Mosh pit

Mosh pit

This week was a rough one for me. I had to log off for a few days because the weight of what has been going on in this country was inescapable for me as Black woman online. The videos, the posts, the shares, the comments and the likes all got to be too much for me to handle this week knowing that promise of lives well willed can be revoked at any moment. So I decompressed. I found time to write about the bits of information that align with my research and the purposes of the blog. Post, submit. Save.

I did a big thing this week too, before all the madness. I recalled moments of content collapse at one of my favorite artist’s concert. I hadn’t imagined on Monday when I was reading about DIY videos concert experiences that I would publish my own on youtube from that same live performance. It’s funny how things work out like that. Unlike most of the filmmakers interviewed for the Lingel and Naaman’s article, I found that it was very helpful for me to see through the screen I point through the stage. Being a shorter person, it can literally save the night from becoming just a series of obstructed views and being pushed around by ecstatic moshers. I really really miss those times.
